This week saw the iOS version of Duolingo get updated to version 4.0 and it also introduced a really interesting new feature… duels!
People all over the UK at the moment are rejoicing over Easter and it’s associated public holidays. I’ve been lucky enough to spend the past few days off with my relatives in the seaside town of Selsey.
We’re staying in a peaceful cottage which is less than a minute’s stroll to the beach (you can actually hear the soothing sounds of sea waves while inside the house). It’s been really fun taking walks along the beach, participating in Easter egg hunts and catching up with family in general. I also discovered an interesting new addition to the daily routine of my 3 year old niece and 5 year old nephew: French cartoons.
Today is Songkran, a traditional festival to celebrate the Thai new year (incidentally, according to their calendar, it is now the year 2557, not 2014!). I went to the Buddhapapida Temple in South London to celebrate.
I really enjoyed the celebrations, but I also relished in the fact that I got to practise some of my Thai language. Continue reading
This week, my Mother (who is learning German with me on Duolingo) ordered a Spiralo spiral slicer off the internet. We are trying to eat a little healthier at the moment, and this device is a great excuse for eating more fruit and vegetables!
